The Annual Breakfast in Celebration of Christmas

Come and gather to meet new and familiar faces and to hear our distinguished speaker, His Excellency Dennis Ignatius, Ambassador of Malaysia to Canada. He will bring a message about the world of diplomats, providing a peek into what it is like to be not only among the kings and governors of this world, but also what it’s like to represent your country and serve the King of Christmas.

Dennis Ignatius is a career Malaysian Foreign Service officer with over
30 years experience. He has served in Britain, China, the United States, Chile and Argentina. He was also voncurrently accredited as Ambassador of Malaysia to Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay and Uruguay. He has served twice as Undersecretary for American Affairs at the Malaysian Foreign Ministry in Kuala Lumpur and has lived and traveled in Asia, North and South America and Europe. He is presently the High Commissioner (Ambassador) of Malaysia to Canada.

Dennis Ignatius was decorated with the ‘Grand Cross of the Order of Mayo’ by the Government of Argentina and the following decorations by Malaysia:

• Member of the Most Distinguished Order of the Defender of the Realm (AMN), 1985
• Commander of the Most Honorable Order of the Royal Household (JSD), 1996
• Grand Commander of the Most Honorable Order of Loyalty (DSPN), 1998

Dennis Ignatius had a dramatic encounter with the Christ of Christmas on Embassy row in Washington DC in 1986 that radically altered his life.
